Jan. 10, 2017 – Rock Canyon Poets poetry open mic at Pioneer Book in Provo, from 6:30 – 8:00 pm

Jan. 12, 2017 – Speak for Yourself spoken word open mic at Enliten Cafe in Provo, at 7:30 pm

Jan. 15, 2017 – Utah Writers Resist Reading at Mandate Press in SLC from 7:00 – 8:00 pm

Mar. 2, 2017 – Metaphors Everywhere free poetry lecture by Rosemerry Wahtola-Trommer at the Canyon Community Center in Springdale (Southern Utah)

Mar. 3, 2017 – Poetry in the Park one-day workshop ($50 fee) at Zion Park Lodge (Southern Utah)

Jan. 31, 2017 Deadline – Provo Poetry POEMBALL call for short poems. No fee to submit.

Jan. 31, 2017 Deadline – Writers @ Work Annual Writing Competition. $20 entry fee.

Feb. 18, 2017 Deadline – Red Butte Gardens call for poetry. No fee to submit.

Send your short poems to help promote poetry in Utah County! Submission guidelines are as follows:

PLEASE FOLLOW ALL GUIDELINES, SEE HOW TO SUBMIT BELOW.

DEADLINE: December 31, 2016

GUIDELINES:

  • Poets must have lived or spent significant time in Utah County at some point in their lives.
  • Poems must be appropriate for a general audience (rated PG).
  • Provo Poetry is an all-inclusive community. Do not send poems with topics/speech related to hate, shaming, or cultural appropriation.

POEM LENGTH: All poems must be 25 lines or less…
