Open Mic at Enliten tonight! Poetry starts at 7:30!
Alliterative angst and awe await the audience each and every Thursday as talents tame tremors of fear and of brilliance. Enliten Bakery and Cafe is home to “Speak For Yourself” open mic night, an open forum for writers to share their work. Authors share everything from poetry, to flash fiction, to book chapters with an overwhelmingly supportive audience.
I stumbled upon “Speak for Yourself” open mic night by accident. Enliten is a fantastic place to study and a few months ago, my studies were serendipitously interrupted by a delicious sampling of these local authors. I came back last night to interview some of the regulars and to get the story behind the weekly event.
