Check out the lineup of POEMBALL poets reading at the launch on Tuesday, October 25, 2016 from 6:30 – 8:00 pm at Pioneer Book. The night will feature readings by local poets who have contributed to the POEMBALL as well as an open mic for all poets who would like to share their work. As you can see below, there’s still plenty of room. You can sign up for the open mic when you arrive. Please come out and support our local poets!
We will also be announcing our next submission call, open from October 25 – December 31, 2016! For information about how to have your poems included in the Provo Poetry POEMBALL machines, see our Submission Calls page.
We are excited to announce the placement of our second POEMBALL machine! The launch coincides with Utah Humanities Book Festival, with several other events also held at Pioneer Book.
If you are not familiar with the history of the POEMBALL, here’s a little background. The first machine was released for Poetry Month last April at Enliten Bakery and Café in Provo and was featured by KSL news and Salt Lake City Weekly. The POEMBALL Machine includes poems from many local poets, often found at Enliten Bakery and Café for the Thursday night creative writing open mic, as well as many well-known Utah poets, including Rob Carney, Star Coulbrooke, Meg Day, Kimberly Johnson, Laura Hamblin, and others.
